J-Plasma · Dubai

J-Plasma skin tightening in Dubai —
for mild to moderate skin laxity.

J-Plasma uses plasma energy beneath the skin to help tighten mild to moderate laxity, most often alongside Vaser liposuction. It can help the skin settle over a new contour; it does not replace surgery that removes excess skin.

J-Plasma is a skin-tightening treatment for the body. When fat is removed, the skin above it has to adapt to a smaller shape. If the skin has lost some of its elasticity, J-Plasma can be added to help it contract. Dr Saba Al Marush offers it at Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, Dubai Healthcare City, after an assessment of your skin and goals.

THE ESSENTIALS

What is J-Plasma?

J-Plasma combines helium gas with radiofrequency energy to create a fine, controlled plasma stream. It is delivered through a slim cannula placed under the skin through small entry points, so it works from beneath the surface rather than on the skin itself.

The energy heats the tissue just under the skin in a controlled way, which makes it contract. Over the following months the skin can sit more firmly over the treated area. Because it is introduced through the same kind of small openings used for liposuction, it is often performed in the same session as Vaser.

WHO IT SUITS

Who J-Plasma is for.

J-Plasma may suit you if:

  • you have mild to moderate skin laxity on areas such as the abdomen, arms, thighs or back
  • you are planning Vaser liposuction and are concerned about how your skin will settle afterwards
  • your weight is stable and you are in good general health
  • you understand that the improvement is gradual and moderate

What J-Plasma cannot do. It does not remove skin. Heavy or overhanging skin, for example after pregnancy or major weight loss, needs surgery that cuts the excess skin away. On the abdomen this is a tummy tuck, which Dr Saba performs. Excisional lifts of the arms, thighs or body are operations Dr Saba does not perform; if J-Plasma would not be enough for your skin, she will tell you so. J-Plasma is not a weight-loss treatment and is not a cellulite treatment.

THE PROCESS

Your J-Plasma treatment.

01

Consultation

Dr Saba assesses your skin quality and laxity and explains whether Vaser, J-Plasma, a tummy tuck or a combination fits your goals.

02

Planning

The areas to treat are agreed and marked, usually together with the areas planned for Vaser.

03

Treatment

Performed in the operating theatre at Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, often in the same session as Vaser liposuction.

04

Recovery

A compression garment, follow-up visits and a gradual return to activity as Dr Saba advises.

RECOVERY & AFTERCARE

What recovery involves.

Swelling, bruising, tightness and some numbness are expected in the treated areas and ease over the following weeks. When J-Plasma is combined with Vaser liposuction, recovery follows the liposuction plan.

Compression garment: Dr Saba’s rule after body surgery is a compression garment for 3 months. Wearing it as advised helps the skin settle over the new contour.

Tightening develops gradually, so the result is judged over months rather than days. Dr Saba reviews your progress at follow-up visits.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Your questions, answered.

Is J-Plasma surgery?

It is a minimally invasive treatment delivered under the skin through small entry points. It is performed in the operating theatre, usually together with Vaser liposuction.

Can J-Plasma replace a tummy tuck?

No. J-Plasma can tighten mild to moderate laxity, but it does not remove skin. Loose, overhanging abdominal skin needs a tummy tuck, which removes the excess skin.

Is J-Plasma combined with Vaser liposuction?

Often, yes. Vaser removes fat and J-Plasma helps the overlying skin contract over the new contour. Dr Saba decides at consultation whether the combination suits you.

When will I see the result?

The skin tightens gradually as the tissue heals. Swelling has to settle first, so the result is assessed over several months.

Will I need a compression garment?

Yes. Dr Saba’s rule after body surgery is a compression garment for 3 months.

Which areas can be treated?

J-Plasma is used on body areas with mild to moderate laxity, such as the abdomen, arms, thighs and back. Dr Saba will advise which of your areas are suitable.
